Exploring English Mountain Recovery Center

Located in the serene landscape of the Smoky Mountains in eastern Tennessee, English Mountain Recovery Center stands as a beacon of hope and healing for individuals battling drug and alcohol addiction and co-occurring disorders. With comprehensive programs tailored to meet the needs of each individual, our center is committed to providing top-notch care and support.

Treatment Programs Offered at the Center

English Mountain Recovery Center offers a range of treatment programs. Specialized care for co-occurring disorders is a key component of our offerings, allowing clients to receive treatment for both addiction and any underlying mental health issues simultaneously.

1. – Medically Supervised Detox Program: This is the first step in the recovery process, where individuals undergo medically supervised detox to safely withdraw from substances. Our medical staff is available 24 hours a day to help individuals manage the psychological and physical symptoms of withdrawal safely and as comfortably as possible.

2. – Residential Treatment Program: English Mountain Recovery Center offers residential programs of 30, 45, 60, or 90 days. Some people may even choose to stay longer than 90 days. Research shows that longer stays provide the best outcome for sustained sobriety. However, we understand that long-term stays are not always possible due to family, professional, or financial obligations. To all of our residential clients, we provide transitional care support once treatment ends, including options for extended outpatient care, referrals for ongoing therapy, and sober living options.

3. – Co-occurring Disorders Program: Many individuals with a drug or alcohol addiction also suffer from a mental health disorder. When this occurs, we provide treatment that addresses the underlying issues of both disorders.

Co-occurring disorders we treat include:

  • Addiction and Anxiety
  • Addiction and Depression
  • Addiction and Bipolar
  • Addiction and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

4. – Drug and Alcohol Addiction Recovery for Veterans: English Mountain Recovery Center offers the Tactical Recovery Program for Veterans, active military, and first responders. Staff members are specifically trained and earn certifications through PsychArmor. Members of the program also take part in the Battle Buddies Program where they work with another Veteran as a mentor.

5. – Family Program: English Mountain knows that addiction affects the whole family. Our family program helps families heal and reconnect by improving communication skills, conflict reduction strategies, and problem-solving skills. We help families understand healthy boundaries, the signs of codependency, and the difference between enabling and helping.

English Mountain Provides Gender-Specific 12-step Residential Treatment

English Mountain Recovery Center is one of the few treatment facilities that provide gender-specific programs. Studies show that men and women generally have different experiences regarding their drug of choice, brain response, relapse reasons, and addiction risk factors. Gender-specific treatment provides a supportive, safe space for treatment. The recovery program is based on the principles of the 12-step program.

Addiction Therapies at English Mountain

English Mountain provides a well-rounded treatment program that includes evidence-based and holistic therapies. For those individuals who are not comfortable with 12-step programs because of their spiritual or religious aspects, English Mountain offers SMART Recovery, also known as Self-Management and Recovery Training, as an alternative program.
