What to Bring

When preparing to enter English Mountain Recovery for addiction treatment, it’s important to pack thoughtfully to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable and successful stay. The facility will provide many essentials, but bringing a few personal items can make the experience more familiar and stress-free.

Their team can provide a detailed list of approved and prohibited items, ensuring you are fully prepared for your journey toward recovery.

What to Bring to Residential Treatment at English Mountain Recovery

  • At least one form of personal identification
  • Insurance Card(s) and Prescription Card(s)
  • Music players such as MP3 player, Walkman or iPOD (*1)
  • Sunscreen and appropriate bathing suit during warm season
  • Postage Stamps
  • Exercise clothing and sneakers
  • Spending money
  • Laundry detergent/fabric softener (*4)
  • Personal toiletries
  • Umbrella
  • Snacks and drinks allowed in rooms
  • Eyeglasses and/or contacts and appropriate accessories
  • Appropriate pictures that provide comfort and a sense of “home”
  • Flashlight and batteries
  • Personal Alarm Clock
  • A variety of clothing (*2-3)

(*1) Personal size with headphones. Can be used following 30 days of initial stay, as long as they do not have recording capability
(*2) Clothes for warm weather (April-August)
(*3) Clothes for cooler weather (September-March)
(*4) Do not bring liquid bleach
*(separate male and female laundry facilities provided on-site)
*(full size pool on-site)
*(cannot contain alcohol and no aerosols permitted)

Note: Clothing cannot promote drugs, alcohol, sex, etc.

Items that are not allowed at English Mountain Recovery:

  • No radios larger than personal sized with headphones
  • No cell phones of any kind
  • No computers, PDA or other computer equipment of any kind
  • No perfumes, colognes, nail polish (or remover), enemas, condoms, others
  • No weapons of any kind (even small knifes, scissors, or other items with blades)
  • No valuables or expensive belongings
  • No pornographic or violent materials of any kind
  • No candles, incense, or other similar materials
  • No cleaning solutions, shoe polish, White Out, glues
  • No loose tobacco and/or rolling papers
  • No energy drinks
  • No cameras
  • No head coverings in house (hoods, hats, caps)
